Bio

Gabrielle Freeman was born and raised in Southern California.  After moving across the US, she settled in Greenville, North Carolina first as a student in the vocal performance program at East Carolina University, and then as a master's candidate in the English Department.  Since earning her MA in English in 2001, Gabrielle has taught at the high school, community college, and university levels.  She currently teaches freshman composition at East Carolina.  She is also working on an MFA in poetry through Converse College in Spartanburg, SC.

Gabrielle met her husband, David Freeman, in Greenville, and they have been married since 2001.  After the birth of their daughter in 2005, Gabrielle began painting.  Most of her clothes are now at least dotted with a little titanium white and probably some ultramarine blue.  She has a developing interest in crafting using recyclable materials.  Currently, Gabrielle lives on Tranter's Creek with her husband, almost six-year-old daughter, two-year-old son, three dogs, one cat, one rabbit, and seven chickens.
